PM Modi to visit Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from August 31, to attend SCO Summit, check details
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uzbekistan from 29–30 August on a bilateral visit and the Kyrgyz Republic for the 26th SCO Summit from 31 August to 1 September 2026. At the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, PM Modi will undertake a State Visit to Tashkent on 29–30 August 2026.This will be Prime Minister’s fourth visit to Uzbekistan. During the visit, he will hold delegation-level talks with President Mirziyoyev to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

At least four people were killed and another person went missing after armed militants ambushed a vehicle in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Thursday, officials said. The incident took place in an isolated stretch between Makui Ashang and Thabamba Naga, raising fresh concerns over security in the region. All four victims belonged to the Liangmai Naga community and died at the spot following the attack. The bodies are being taken to Senapati district hospital for further procedures.

The second Test between India and Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo ended in a draw, as the Shubman Gill-led side had no answer to Sonal Dinusha’s resistance. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that representatives of auto-rickshaw and taxi driver associations had met him and requested an additional year for the drivers to learn the language. Acceding to their request, the government decided to grant this one-year grace period and no action will be taken against drivers for not knowing Marathi during this time.
