In a major step in advancing India’s air defence system under Mission Sudarshan Chakra, the Army has issued a tender to procure six AK-630 30mm air defence guns from a state-owned firm with the aim to bolster protection civilian areas and religious sites located near the border with Pakistan. The acquisition is being viewed as a key step in India’s long-term plan to build a multi-layered security shield.
