Actor and politician Vijay’s father, SA Chandrasekhar, has called on the Congress party to explore an electoral understanding with his son’s political outfit, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), for the upcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. Chandrasekhar said such a partnership could help the Congress regain its former strength in the state. He made these remarks while speaking to reporters on Wednesday after attending a wedding function in Tiruvarur district.
In a shocking incident, 34 people, including 22 children were on Wednesday killed in Thailand’s deadliest mass shooting. Several people have been taken hostages, local media reported. A gunman was holding an unknown number of student and teachers hostage in a school in southern Thailand’s Songkhla, the provincial administration said on social media.

In Peeragarhi car death case, Delhi Police on Wednesday got five-day police custody of Kamaruddin Baba. Earlier in the day, Delhi Police arrested the self-styled ‘baba’ in connection with the deaths of three people whose bodies were found inside a locked car near the Peeragarhi flyover. The accused, identified as Kamaruddin, described by police as a ‘maulana’ and an occult practitioner, has been booked for murder, an official told PTI.
