Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Thursday was acquitted by a court in national capital’s Saket in a two-decade-old defamation case that was filed against him by social activist Medha Patkar. The detailed order, which is yet to be released by the court, was passed by Saket court’s Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Raghav Sharma.
In a shocking incident, 34 people, including 22 children were on Wednesday killed in Thailand’s deadliest mass shooting. Several people have been taken hostages, local media reported. A gunman was holding an unknown number of student and teachers hostage in a school in southern Thailand’s Songkhla, the provincial administration said on social media.

In Peeragarhi car death case, Delhi Police on Wednesday got five-day police custody of Kamaruddin Baba. Earlier in the day, Delhi Police arrested the self-styled ‘baba’ in connection with the deaths of three people whose bodies were found inside a locked car near the Peeragarhi flyover. The accused, identified as Kamaruddin, described by police as a ‘maulana’ and an occult practitioner, has been booked for murder, an official told PTI.
