Carlos Alcaraz created history today, winning the Australian Open for the first time in his career, beating the veteran Novak Djokovic, who was chasing his 25th Grand Slam title. However, it was the 22-year-old who held his nerve to become the youngest player to achieve career grand slam, breaking Don Budge’s record after 88 years. Even though this is Alcaraz’s maiden AO triumph, the Spaniard had won six Grand Slam titles before today.
