Kerala ministers on Tuesday termed the landslide at the Kalladi tunnel project site in Wayanad a “man-made disaster”, alleging that it was caused by the unscientific dumping of excavated earth rather than natural causes. The contractor executing the project, however, rejected the allegations, attributing the incident to exceptionally heavy monsoon rainfall and maintaining that all prescribed safety and environmental protocols had been followed.
A member of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has been suspended after an internal investigation was launched into alleged irregularities involving donations at Badrinath Dham. The decision came after a preliminary inquiry reportedly found initial evidence suggesting possible misconduct. The suspended employee, Pramod Nautiyal, was serving as a private secretary in the temple committee.

Meta has issued a strong statement after the Centre served it a notice over Instagram advertisements allegedly linked to child sexual exploitation material. In a blog post released days after the government’s action, the company said it takes child safety extremely seriously and rejected claims that it knowingly targeted users with such advertisements.
