Uruguay have announced a 46-man provisional squad for their upcoming tour of Asia, where they will play Japan, South Korea and finally India at Salt Lake Stadium on October 6. The fixture will also mark the beginning of Diego Forlan’s tenure as Uruguay’s senior head coach. The former Inter Milan striker took responsibility after the two-time world champion flopped miserably at the 2026 FIFA World Cup under Marcelo Bielsa.

    Prime accused in Punjab anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota’s murder arrested from Rajasthan

    The Punjab Police has arrested prime accused in Punjab anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota’s murder from Salasar, Rajasthan. Jhota was earlier shot on Tuesday, October 13 during a confrontation at a medical store in Mansa, Punjab, while livestreaming what he alleged was the sale of ‘chitta’, or heroin. He later succumbed to his injuries at Mansa Civil Hospital. The incident has triggered a political storm, with opposition leaders accusing the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of failing to tackle the drug menace and maintain law and order.

    Two inter-state drug peddlers have been arrested with 317 kg of ganja, valued at an estimated Rs 3.17 crore in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru Police has arrested two arrested drug peddlers who are from Kerala and a case was registered under NDPS act.
