Delhi has been placed under an unprecedented security blanket, with around 25,000 police and paramilitary personnel deployed across the national capital ahead of a proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar.

    The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) on Friday scripted a landslide victory in Nandigram, Rejinagar and Nagaon Lok Sabha bypolls. On the other hand, Vijay’s TVK won Dharapuram and Madurantakam bypolls in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, All India NR Congress (AINRC) candidate Ashok Anand won the Thattanchavady Assembly bypoll in Puducherry by a margin of 8,482 votes.

    The Delhi Police has detained people with ‘criminal records’ across all 15 districts of the national capital in view of the protest called by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) seeking Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, said sources on Saturday.
