Security stepped up ahead of CJP protest at Jantar Mantar today: Check what’s open, what’s closed

Security has been stepped up with police personnel and Border Security Force (BSF) jawans deployed at key points ahead of a major protest called by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. The protest has been called to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar amid allegations of irregularities in election-related processes.

On the other hand, Vijay’s TVK won Dharapuram and Madurantakam bypolls in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, All India NR Congress (AINRC) candidate Ashok Anand won the Thattanchavady Assembly bypoll in Puducherry by a margin of 8,482 votes.

    The Delhi Police has detained people with ‘criminal records’ across all 15 districts of the national capital in view of the protest called by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) seeking Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, said sources on Saturday.
