Mumbai batter Ayush Mhatre is expected to spend another spell on the sidelines after suffering a grade 4 tear in his right hamstring during the opening match of the Ranji Trophy season against Chandigarh at the Wankhede Stadium. The 19-year-old is facing an estimated recovery period of four to six weeks, according to the initial assessment.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday won 38 of the 44 seats in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation elections, securing 56.64 per cent of the vote. The Congress won five seats with a vote share of 37.05 per cent, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to win a single seat, polling 4.38 per cent of the votes. In a major development, the Delhi government on Tuesday made Aadhaar identification mandatory for consumers to avail the benefits of its power subsidy scheme amid a steady rise in beneficiaries and a burgeoning power subsidy bill borne by the exchequer. As per the official figures, by February 2026, the Delhi government’s allocation for power subsidy reached Rs 4,037.63 crore and for the current financial year (2026-27), the government has budgeted Rs 3,500 crore for this purpose.
