Two inmates nabbed under POCSO Act escape from Srinagar Central Jail; lookout notice issued
Two inmates arrested under POCSO Act have reportedly escaped from Srinagar Central Jail in Jammu and Kashmir. The escaped inmates have been identified as Farman Khan, a resident of Sadanpora, Rajasthan, and Mukhtar Ahmed Gujar, a resident of Sanglan Chittergul in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Police have launched a massive manhunt to trace and apprehend the escaped inmates and issued a lookout notice in this regard. The notice also included photographs of the two prisoners and urged people to share information by contacting the nearest police station or dialling 112.

UPSSSC aspirant paid Rs 10 lakh, used Bluetooth to clear exam; caught red-handed by STF
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UPSTF) arrested a candidate red-handed at an exam centre in Lucknow while he was cheating using a Bluetooth device during the UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) graduate-level main examination. The accused also paid Rs 10 lakh in advance to an exam racketeer to clear the exam held on Sunday, August 23. The arrested candidate has been identified as Brijesh Kumar Yadav (son of Dan Bahadur Yadav), a resident of Prayagraj. Originally hailing from Jaunpur, Brijesh was apprehended at the Dayanand Kanya Inter College examination center in Sector-C, Mahanagar, Lucknow.

Two MLAs among six injured in a road accident at Delhi’s ITO
Two MLAs including Anil Jha, the current MLA from Kirari, Delhi, and Abhay Patel, a Karnataka MLA were among six people who sustained minor injuries in a road accident at Delhi’s ITO on Sunday night. The accident occurred around 9:30 pm when two cars collided near the PWD office in central Delhi. As per police, a Swift car travelling from Laxmi Nagar towards ITO hit the divider and after crossing the railing, collided with the Innova coming from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar.

Pregnant defence ministry officer found dead in Delhi; parents allege harassment by husband and in-laws
