CBSE amends by laws: High-resolution CCTV cameras now mandatory in schools

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has amended its bye-law mandating schools to install high-resolution CCTV cameras with audio-visual facilities at all entry and exit points, lobbies, corridors, staircases, classrooms, labs, library, canteen area, store room, playground, and other common areas. The policy aims to ensure a fair and transparent exam process by closely monitoring activities within exam halls.

Union govt agrees to 16-hour discussion on Op Sindoor, Pahalgam attack in Lok Sabha during monsoon session

The central government on Monday agreed to hold a 16-hour-long discussion in the Lok Sabha on the recent Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack. As per details, the discussion is expected to be taken up next week, but the opposition is pressing for an immediate start to the discussion this week itself. They have also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi respond personally during the discussion. The matter was discussed during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee, where government representatives clarified that PM Modi will be travelling abroad this week, as a result, any discussion in his presence can only be scheduled next week, news agency PTI reported citing sources.

Consumer panel directs Apple, Croma to refund iPhone cost over unresolved microphone defect

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Mumbai (Suburban), has directed Apple India and Croma to jointly refund Rs 65,264, the cost of an iPhone 11, to the legal heirs of a customer after the two companies failed to address a microphone defect in the device. The panel held both the manufacturer and the retailer “jointly and severally liable” for deficient service.
