Hailstorm likely in Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut and other NCR cities; orange alert issued: Details

An orange alert has been issued for Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut and other NCR cities, warning of rain, thunderstorm and possible hailstorm in the next three hours. Weather officials said moderate storms accompanied by lightning and strong winds are likely, with wind speeds ranging between 30–40 kmph and gusts up to 50 kmph in some areas. The alert also covers several districts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Agra, Aligarh, Amroha, Bulandshahr, Etah, Etawah, Firozabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Hapur, Hathras, Jalaun, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Mathura and Sambhal. People have been advised to stay indoors, avoid open areas during lightning, and take precautions to protect crops and vehicles.
