Odisha govt to provide free travel for school students under Mukhyamantri Bus Seva scheme

Pakistan: Nine children injured as drone strike hits madrasa during classes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A drone strike on a madrasa in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province left nine children injured, officials said on Friday. As per reports, the incident took place at a religious seminary located in Shadikhel village of Tank district, where the drone targeted the premises at a time when children were in their classrooms. Census 2027 Phase-I pre-test concludes as India targets April 2026 rollout for landmark digital exercise

With less than three months left for the launch of the first phase of the Census of India 2027, the government has begun detailed groundwork for what officials describe as one of the world’s largest administrative exercises. Extensive discussions have been held with stakeholders at sub-district, district and state levels to finalise the roadmap for the Houselisting and Housing Census, which begins in April 2026. The preparations gained momentum after the successful completion of the Pre-Test exercise for Phase I earlier this month. Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Mritunjay Kumar Narayan appreciated all stakeholders for their efforts, noting that this was a crucial step in India’s first digital census.

Elderly man falls from 10th floor, hangs upside down on 8th floor grill before dramatic rescue | VIDEO

Residents of a high-rise in Gujarat’s Surat were left shaken after a terrifying incident where an elderly man fell from the 10th floor and got trapped upside down on the iron window grill of the 8th floor. The man was identified as 57-year-old Nitinbhai Adiya — a resident of the 10th floor of the Time Galaxy building. The shocking sight triggered panic across the building. People immediately alerted the fire department, following which a dramatic rescue operation unfolded. A video of the incident has also surfaced online.
