To challenge the dominance of corporate ride-haling companies like Ola and Uber, the government has joined hands with Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited to develop Bharat Taxi – the country’s first fixed national cooperative ride-hailing platform. The cooperative taxi service will be launched in December. Ahead of that, the platform is launching its pilot project in Delhi in November with 650 drivers. It will then expand to other states next month.
K Bhagyaraj, who is an accomplished filmmaker, award-winning screenwriter, and actor, has died at the age of 73 due to a massive heart attack that occurred on Saturday, June 27. He was highly respected as one of the greatest screenwriters in the country and as a great force in the field of Tamil cinema. Reportedly, he had some chest pains after going out for his daily morning walk. He was immediately taken to a local private hospital, where it was confirmed that he had passed away.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Seychelles on Saturday on a three-day official visit, during which he will hold talks with President Patrick Herminie and attend the golden jubilee celebrations of the National Day of the archipelago nation. PM Modi at the Seychelles International Airport was given a grand welcome by Herminie and a high-level delegation. He also received a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
