CM Yogi renames Prayagraj’s Kasari-Masari as Krishnapuri, says area won’t be known for mafia anymore

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday that Prayagraj’s Kasari-Masari area will now be developed as Krishnapuri. Taking a strong swipe at slain gangster Atiq Ahmed and his criminal legacy, the Chief Minister said the area would no longer be associated with a mafia’s identity and would instead emerge as a symbol of development. “Kasari-Masari will no longer be known by that name. We will develop it as Krishnapuri,” CM Yogi said. He added that the announcement was part of the development process underway in the region.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi felicitated Indian athletes after their successful campaign at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The Indian contingent bagged 85 medals in total, which includes 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze medals.     Bombay HC bars bursting of firecrackers on roads, public places in Maharashtra during Diwali

    Taking a strong stance on noise and air pollution during Diwali and other festivals, the Bombay High Court on Thursday issued directives prohibiting the bursting of firecrackers on roads and in public spaces across the state. However, no restrictions have been imposed on the manufacturing or sale of firecrackers. During a hearing of the matter, a division bench comprising Justice Girish Kulkarni and Justice Neela Gokhale also issued directives regarding restrictions on the use of DJs, loudspeakers, Dolby sound systems, and laser lights. The court has instructed the administration to formulate a set of regulations within one week and ensure their strict enforcement.
