The Delhi Police has sought a five-day extension of the judicial custody of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das. During the hearing, the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) court reserved its order on the police’s request to extend their custody. The court’s decision is awaited.
In a major development, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has come forward and named former India cricketer Pragyan Ojha as the new chief selector of the men’s national team. Apart from Ojha, Ramesh Powar has also been added to the selection committee as well.

India on Monday (October 19) rejected an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) resolution on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir adopted at the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Baghdad, calling it “malicious, biased and false and orchestrated by Pakistan”.
