A fire broke out in the basement of the Income Tax building on Maharshi Karve Road in Mumbai on Monday afternoon. As per details, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received information about the blaze at around 2:01 pm, following which fire personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to bring the flames under control. At around 2:10 pm, the fire was classified as a Level-1 incident. Firefighters are currently engaged in firefighting and assessing the situation at the building.
TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s private security personnel, supporters and party leaders allegedly clashed with police and Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) officials on Thursday as they tried to prevent them from entering the Lok Sabha MP’s office on Camac Street and removing an ‘unauthorised’ billboard. The billboard, featuring TMC signage, had been installed on an iron structure facing the road on the building’s top floor. KMC officials eventually dismantled it after police entered the office.
