Iran offers USD 30,000 for killing or capturing US soldiers, double for women

Iran’s military on Sunday (August 16) announced a bounty equivalent to USD 30,000 for killing or capturing US soldiers, with the reward doubling if the act is carried out by a woman, amid continued tensions between Tehran and Washington. Army Chief Amir Hatami said the plan was drawn up following a ‘large number of requests’ from people seeking to participate, according to an AFP report citing Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency.

    Four Naga civilians killed, one missing as militants ambush vehicle in Manipur’s Kangpokpi

    At least four people were killed and another person went missing after armed militants ambushed a vehicle in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Thursday, officials said. The incident took place in an isolated stretch between Makui Ashang and Thabamba Naga, raising fresh concerns over security in the region. All four victims belonged to the Liangmai Naga community and died at the spot following the attack. The bodies are being taken to Senapati district hospital for further procedures.
