Jharkhand students leading the ongoing agitation against alleged irregularities in JPSC-JSSC recruitment examinations have decided to suspend their protest for two months after their demands were accepted. According to the information, the students have agreed to temporarily call off the movement and are expected to leave the protest site by Wednesday evening. An official statement on the decision is likely to be issued by the students later in the evening.
TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s private security personnel, supporters and party leaders allegedly clashed with police and Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) officials on Thursday as they tried to prevent them from entering the Lok Sabha MP’s office on Camac Street and removing an ‘unauthorised’ billboard. The billboard, featuring TMC signage, had been installed on an iron structure facing the road on the building’s top floor. KMC officials eventually dismantled it after police entered the office.
