A 72-year-old Mumbai-based businessman has fallen victim to a massive ‘digital arrest’ fraud, losing an astonishing ₹58 crore to cybercriminals posing as officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Maharashtra Cyber Department, which is investigating the case, has arrested three individuals connected with the scam- marking one of the largest reported ‘digital arrest’ frauds in India to date.
The Congress in Haryana on Thursday (April 16) suspended five of its MLAs from the party’s primary membership with immediate effect over alleged cross-voting during last month’s Rajya Sabha elections. The Supreme Court on Thursday issued significant directives while uploading its order regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) case in West Bengal. Exercising its special powers under Article 142 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to implement the decisions rendered by the Appellate Tribunal.
