The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented in all 21 states governed by the BJP-led NDA before 2029, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Sunday, September 13. Shah also talked about government’s zero tolerance towards terrorism adding that operations such as surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor have established a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, while security has been prioritised across various sectors.

India’s retail inflation, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), rose to 5.54 per cent in September, mainly due to higher food prices. According to government data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), corresponding inflation rates for rural and urban areas are 6.08 per cent and 4.88 per cent, respectively.
