Yogi govt announces holiday in Uttar Pradesh on October 19 on occasion of Maha Navami

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a holiday in the state on October 19 on the occasion of Maha Navami. The decision comes as devotees prepare to celebrate Maha Navami, an important day during Navratri dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga. Maha Navami marks the ninth day of Navratri and is observed with prayers, religious rituals and special worship dedicated to Goddess Durga. Devotees across the country participate in celebrations at temples and pandals.

    Abhijeet Dipke detained by Delhi Police ahead of ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ march, taken into preventive custody

    Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was on Friday detained by Delhi Police ahead of proposed ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ March at Connaught Place. Earlier in the day, more than 20 Delhi Police personnel turned up at the residence of Dipke and served him a notice prohibiting him from holding a protest at Connaught Place on Friday, hours before the scheduled march, citing the risk of traffic disruption, stampede and threats to public safety.
