Swaraj Kaushal, ex-Mizoram governor and husband of late Sushma Swaraj, dies at 73
Former Mizoram governor and senior advocate Swaraj Kaushal passed away on Thursday at the age of 73. Kaushal, husband of late BJP veteran Sushma Swaraj, was the father of New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj. “We are sorry to inform the sudden demise of former Governor of Mizoram, senior advocate Swaraj Kaushal,” Delhi BJP said in a statement. According to party leaders, Kaushal complained of chest pain on Thursday afternoon and was immediately taken to AIIMS, where doctors declared him dead. The family confirmed that the cremation will be held at the Lodhi Road crematorium.

Rahul Mamkootathil, Kerala Congress MLA, expelled amid rape allegations, anticipatory bail rejected
Kerala Congress legislator Rahul Mamkootathil from Palakkad was expelled from Congress on Thursday (December 4) following serious rape allegations against him. Rupee at all-time low of 90.30 against US dollar: What’s behind the fall and how worrying is the situation?
Indian rupee extended an eight-month decline to breach a key psychological level of 90 and touched the all-time intraday low of Rs 90.30 against the dollar. However, it recovered some ground to close at a new all-time low of 90.21, down 25 paise from its previous close. Rupee has dipped over 5 per cent against the dollar year-to-date and is among Asia’s worst performers. Allahabad High Court order UP to verify SC status of converted individuals
The Allahabad High Court has instructed all district magistrates in Uttar Pradesh to verify cases where individuals who have converted to religions other than Hinduism, Sikhism, or Buddhism are still claiming Scheduled Caste (SC) benefits. The court said this practice amounts to a “fraud on the Constitution” and said that the law regarding caste status after conversion must be implemented “in reality and in true sense.”
