US President Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed that Iran was in a state of collapse and wants the United States to open the Strait of Hormuz while it sorts out its leadership. Himachal Pradesh panchayat elections 2026 announced: Check voting, result dates and other details
The Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections in the state. State Election Commissioner Anil Khachi released the detailed programme on Tuesday, setting the stage for a three-phase electoral exercise across rural areas. According to the schedule, voting will take place on May 26, May 28 and May 30 across 3,754 gram panchayats. With the announcement, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into immediate effect in rural regions.

West Bengal elections phase 2 voting tomorrow amid tight security, all eyes on Bhabanipur in TMC vs BJP battle
The second phase of the West Bengal Assembly Election will witness polling on 142 seats on Wednesday, with the Election Commission of India enforcing an unprecedented security plan. More than 3.5 lakh personnel from CRPF, SSB, RPF, ITBP and CISF have been stationed across seven districts. In Kolkata alone, around 35,000 security personnel have been deployed, while 2,550 companies of central forces are guarding the state. Along with this, 142 general observers and 95 police observers have been appointed to monitor polling.
