In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bihar government on Tuesday transferred 17 senior IPS officers, including SPs of Bhojpur and Siwan where police action had triggered controversies. As per a notification issued by the state Home Department, the government has transferred Siwan Superintendent of Police (SP) Pooran Kumar Jha. Notably, Pooran Kumar Jha, under whose command an AK-47 rifle was allegedly used during a student protest in Siwan on July 25, has been placed on the waiting list for a new posting.

‘BOSS Scam’ busted by Ahmedabad cyber crime branch with Pakistan-China links; over 10,000 devices secured
The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has busted a high-profile international cyber fraud network allegedly providing infrastructure and services to cybercriminals based in Pakistan and China. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said two people have been arrested from West Bengal in connection with the case, while further investigation is underway. The accused have been identified as Imran Ali Piyada and Injamul. Police recovered seven mobile phones from them, including three Android phones and four keypad phones, along with SIM cards and a router.

Dr Jal Ratanji Patel and Dr Jal Dhaybho-Koo, both members of Mumbai’s Parsi community, have been nominated for the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for maintaining the confidentiality of Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s serious health condition during the politically sensitive period preceding Partition. This comes decades after the two doctors examined Jinnah in 1946. Fire breaks out at Mumbai Income Tax building basement, panic grips area as fire brigade rushes in
A fire broke out in the basement of the Income Tax building on Maharshi Karve Road in Mumbai on Monday afternoon. As per details, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received information about the blaze at around 2:01 pm, following which fire personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to bring the flames under control. At around 2:10 pm, the fire was classified as a Level-1 incident. Firefighters are currently engaged in firefighting and assessing the situation at the building.
